Terms & Conditions
We are monitoring Covid-19 developments closely. If, as hoped, the winners are invited to travel for an event at the British Embassy in Berlin, we will cover travel expenses for the winners plus one adult chaperone for those aged 16-17 years. Events taking place in person would comply with hygiene requirements in place at the time and we would inform winners in advance of our Covid-19 policies at the Embassy. We would also notify winners of the Embassy’s safeguarding policies.
All candidates must answer the following question: If you were Ambassador for a day, what issue would you highlight on the world stage and why?
The entries should be in written format within the word limit of 200-300 words or via a 90-120 second video blog.
The essay or video can be in English or German.
Videos should be filmed in landscape mode.
Applicants need to be resident in Germany and aged between 16-19 years on 14 January 2022.
The maximum number of applications considered will be 500, based on factors including date of application and ensuring diversity of applicants from across Germany.
Contributions will be reviewed by an internal, independent jury.
Only successful applicants will be contacted by the Embassy.
