Terms & Conditions

We are monitoring Covid-19 developments closely. If, as hoped, the winners are invited to travel for an event at the British Embassy in Berlin, we will cover travel expenses for the winners plus one adult chaperone for those aged 16-17 years. Events taking place in person would comply with hygiene requirements in place at the time and we would inform winners in advance of our Covid-19 policies at the Embassy. We would also notify winners of the Embassy’s safeguarding policies.

All candidates must answer the following question: "If you were Ambassador for a day, what issue would you highlight on the world stage and why?"

Entries should be sent as a video of no more than two minutes in length.

The video can be in English or German.

Videos can be filmed in landscape or portrait mode.

Applicants need to be resident in Germany and aged between 16-19 years. There is no citizenship requirement: Ambassador for a Day is open to people of all backgrounds.

Applications will close at 23:59 on Wednesday 11 January 2023. An Internal, independent jury will then consider the best applications and select 20 winners.

We expect to inform successful applicants to Ambassador for a Day 2023 during the first weeks of February 2023.
